the brief

Andrew Walters from Harrison Pitt Architects contacted Arrow with a tender opportunity for Twin Lakes - a luxury home development surrounding two lakes.

The scope of work was for the mechanical & electrical design services at the new development of a country club located on a luxury home site at Tewitfield 20 miles from the Lake District National Park.

the project

The architect outlined the various areas that required designing, which included:

  • Data /communications

  • Building management system (BMS)

  • Simplified building energy model (SBEM) calculations

  • Renewables (e.g. solar thermal/PV)

  • Ventilation and heating

  • Electrical power and lighting

  • Water distribution

  • Fire alarm and emergency lighting

  • Security systems / CCTV

The project team will include an interior designer who will position and specify light fittings, which will need to be co-ordinated. There will also be a specialist pool consultant and kitchen designer whose kitchen layout will need to be co-ordinated with the designs.

Arrow are familiar with this scope and have carried it out on a number of occasions.

This project is a key project for the business and we are delighted to have been chosen to carry out the building services design for such a forward thinking and sustainable development.

Our primary role is to design the services but at the same time support and guide the client to achieve their sustainable aspirations for this country club.

We are looking forward to seeing the completed project and the benefits the site will receive over the coming years.
